Idaho Didactic Handgun Course
DescriptionThis course combined with a Defensive Handgun Course will qualify you to make application for your Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons Permit. This course alone qualifies you to apply for the Idaho Concealed Weapons Permit.
Trigger Control Training is exited to invite you to our Didactic Course. This course is designed by world class instructors from the civilian and law enforcement community. You will learn firearms laws, your rights to self-defense, how to effectively handle the criminal and civil ramification associated with owning and potently using a firearm, and the moral and civil ramifications associated with the use of firearms for self-defense.
Trigger Control Training's Didactic Course has an emphasis on concealed carry, but does not teach basic firearms ownership (We do teach a Basic Firearms Ownership Course). As with all of our courses, safety is paramount and the course is provided in a fun and exciting manner that is easily understood and takes away so much of the hype and personal preference that leads to confusion and fear.
Areas that are covered include: Firearms Safety, Conceal Carry principles, Idaho Law, Combat Mindset, and practical discussion on the Use of Force. This is a great refresher course for those who are already carrying concealed as the laws and court rulings change regularly. It should also be noted that the Combat Mindset curriculum is among the most popular blocks of instruction Trigger Control Training offers.
This is not an eight hour lecture, but a course that is student driven. We ask for and expect student interaction. This class is taught using a unique dialog which engages students and creates constant student involvement. Many of the lessons are taught using case studies of events from our community, our state, and even cases across the country. Much of what is gained during this course is from real, hands on training, not just demonstration.
Graduates of this course exceed the requirements set forth by the States to obtain the Idaho Concealed Weapons Permit, the Oregon CHL, and several others.
This is the first course all handgun students must successfully complete before moving onto more advanced training with TCT.
